The Department for Education this week found itself on the wrong end of a social-media pile-on. In a well-intentioned video promoting free breakfast clubs back in October, parents were asked what they’d do with an extra 30 minutes in the morning. It went viral this week. Even among supporters of the scheme, many questioned the messaging because it made an easy target for opponents.
