Who they are:

Amberfilm's new homepage

One of my clients, AmberFilm, a small business based in the Merseyside area, provide wedding videography, event filming, property showcases, videos for corporate use and entertainment sectors such as artist showreels, film title sequences and music videos.

They’ve undergone internal restructuring recently, and felt they needed a re-branding to show off their new outlook. working with a independent designer, the result is a fresh and modern new logo and design, and a few new website features to boot.

At a glance:

  • A fresh, modern design and user experience
  • Better SEO performance
  • Easier to maintain
  • Better customer support
  • More potential for word of mouth exposure

In Detail:

Private Customer Area

A private customer page showing progress of their video

Amberfilm can now create private account areas for their customers to keep them informed of the video editing process, to show them preview clips, and other information through an easy to use admin system that builds on an interface they were already familiar with. Customers can share these clips with their friends, which promotes subconscious word of mouth advertising among their local friends and family.

Social Networking

Amberfilm had a facebook and twitter presence, but now their new website shows this off with latest twitter updates appearing on their main site. They use this social networking presence to bring live updates from wedding fayres, to praise beautiful venues, and to post breaking news about exclusive offers. This opens them up to new customers via word of mouth, or to people searching for information on potential wedding venues.

Vimeo integration

Their previous website incorporated videos from their Vimeo profile, but they would always have to ask us to make changes to the site if they wanted a video updated.

Using the Vimeo API, their new site gives them control of what videos appear will appear on their pages, via the vimeo admin interface that they were already comfortable with.

Blogging

custom wordpress theme, with social sharing features

Their previous site had a blog, but it was always a separate entity to the main site. One of the key requirements for the new site was to bring the blogging system, powered by WordPress, into the core website. Blogging keeps their website fresh with new content, wedding venue reviews and information about upcoming wedding fayres gives their Search Engine Results Page (SERP) rankings a boost, putting their brand in front of more potential customers than before.
